It’s the last week of Healthiest State Month!. This week our focus is on drinking 0 sugary beverages and more water each day. Water is fuel for your body! To keep your body running smoothly, drink plenty of water throughout the day.
It’s Week 3 of Healthiest State Month! This week’s focus is on 2 hours or less of screen time each day. Reduce screen time by reading a book, getting outside, or participating in a program that doesn’t require a screen.
How are you celebrating Healthiest State Month? Join Sergeant Bluff in celebrating the 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! program throughout October. This week we are focusing on eating 5 fruits or vegetables each day! Participate in Iowa Local Food Day on Oct. 14, sponsored by Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
The City of Sergeant Bluff was selected to receive grant funding to participate in the 5-2-1-0 Healthy Choices Count! program.

Week 1: October 5-9 - 1 or more hour of physical activity
Week 2: October 12-16 - 5 or more fruits or vegetables
Week 3: October 19-23 - 2 hours or less of recreational screen time
Week 4: October 26-30 - 0 sugary drinks – drink more water!
