COMPOST SITE ANNUAL APPLICATION FORM

Residents and Business Owners located within the corporate city limits of Sergeant Bluff are given the privilege to utilize the City of Sergeant Bluff Compost Site during regular business hours. Certain regulations and rules must be met in order to maintain that privilege.

  1. Authorized users of the City’s compost site shall be restricted to residents and businesses located within the corporate limits of the City of Sergeant
  2. Upon payment of any applicable fees (see current resolution setting fees), City of Sergeant Bluff residents and business owners will be issued an annual pass which must be displayed by hanging the annual pass from the rearview mirror of the user’s vehicle when entering and exiting the City compost
  3. Annual Passes are non-transferable.
  4. Annual passes and tags for disposal will be available at City Hall located at 501 4th Street, Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, during normal business hours. At the time of purchase, applicants will be required to furnish the City Hall Staff with the license plate number of vehicle to be used to transport to the compost
  5. Use of the City compost site for any purpose if such person is not an employee or owner of a business located in or a resident living within the corporate limits of the City of Sergeant Bluff is
  6. Be sure to follow the directions of the City’s employees or authorized agents regarding use of the compost
  7. As a courtesy, please be sure to tarp all loads as to not litter the community with
  8. No use or accessing of the city compost site outside of the specified hours of (See Ordinance 652)
  9. No dumping of any yard waste, bulky rubbish, white goods or household solid waste other than in accordance with these regulations and the directions of the City’s employees or authorized
  10. Do not take or collect any bulky rubbish, white goods, or solid waste from the City’s compost site unless authorized to do
  11. Do not take or collect compost from the City’s compost site for commercial use unless authorized to do so. (Residents may take or collect compost from the City’s compost site for use in yards and gardens).
  12. Do not deposit at the city compost site any of the following non-allowable items: batteries, paint, containers, recyclable goods, bricks, tires, solvents, fluorescent light bulbs, asphalt, gas, cleaners, used oil, oil filters, concrete, treated lumber with creosote on it, household solid waste, or any electronics.
  13. Replacement costs will be assessed for any lost, stolen, or damaged Limit 2 replacements per year.

Failure to abide by the guidelines set forth above will result in loss of annual pass and suspended access to the site for one (1) year. Signature below acknowledges agreement with above outline of regulations and guidelines.
